There's access to activities.

Charter schools must now join associations like the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, the NJSIAA.

That means students can participate in sports.

and quality.

Um, and so-

so-Uh, during my first two years at Gill, we weren't the, we weren't part of the NJSIAA, so we couldn't compete in, um, meet a champions or group championships or anything like that.

And, uh, at some point, my school made a conscious, uh, decision to join the NJSIAA in large part because, you know, I, I, I think in large part 'cause I was there, and they saw this as a perfect opportunity to pull the trigger on it.

Um, because I had a, I had a l- fine freshman year, um, but then I really kinda took off sophomore year.

And so I think sophomore year indoors when we were still not part of the NJSIAA, um, I think I ran 9:22 or something for two miles indoors.

Pretty good at the time.
