It's been revealed that the player breached the code of conduct.

She's been fined $5,000 and handed a two-match ban, and that's been suspended for 12 months.

And Australian netballer Sarah Clough has been sanctioned by the sports governing body after pleading guilty to assault and failing to disclose the matter prior to the Commonwealth Games.

Following an investigation, Netball Australia has handed Clough a $5,000 Australian dollar fine and a two-game suspended ban.

It means she will be free to play next month's Constellation Cup against the Silver Ferns if she is selected.

The goalkeeper allegedly kicked a security guard after being denied entry to a bar due to being intoxicated.

It's supposed to help us prevent a terror attack like it occurring in the future.

How, how can we have the head of Netball Australia give evidence to the royal commission, but not the head of the Australian Federal Police?

Um, it's since come out that Sarah did not notify either Netball New South Wales or Netball Australia of those charges in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games, um, despite the fact that the incident in question that gave rise to the charges took place in June, uh, late in season.

Um, yeah, I, uh, think as a podcast we're gonna avoid any major comments on this as we wait for Netball Australia's Integrity Unit to complete its investigation into the matter.

Um, as the, uh, non-applicable and not involved lawyer, my comments are that a Section 10 notice is quite common for, uh, matters that don't reach a high level of impact, um, in terms of the victim and who don't have any prior history.

Um, and Sarah would have ticked those boxes regardless of her sporting background, and so I don't think she has been treated differently in the eyes of the law as a result of her sporting prowess.

Yeah.

I'm, I'm flabbergasted, but anyway, as you said, I mean, there's not much to sort of comment on.

It'll be interesting to see where Netball Australia sort of lands around their integrity investigation, what that means for the Constellation Cup.

So there may be a suggestion that Sarah Klaus kept that one under wraps, thinking it might affect her opportunity to play for the Diamonds in the Commonwealth Games.

Netball Australia will complete its investigation in line with its integrity framework.

I can imagine that's rigorous.
