So, and that, you know, that's not something that we want to hear, is that when we've got this beautiful, proud history.

So around that time, the National Pharmacy Association, the MPA, launched their Ask Your Pharmacist campaign.

And this was a very powerful campaign.

And really, the Nuffield Report backed that up.

But, Elizabeth, there is new data suggesting how much is wasted.

Yes, I was reading about the National Pharmacy Association.

Now that represents community pharmacy over the UK.

And they've stated that wasted medicine in England could fill 75 swimming pools per year.

It's a clean sweep of Good Weeks, I think.

Why? Well, he called for a scaling up of medicines reviews and the discharge medicines service in hospitals, and rightly so.

um a very timely call uh given an investigation in the sunday times at the weekend which revealed i'm sure listeners know that 1 000 elderly patients are being sent to a e every day because of what they describe as an over prescribing epidemic um the times also revealed that nearly 8 million people over the age of 50 take five medicines a day and about 2.2 million take 10 medicines a day which is what to me i don't know about you guys that's mind-boggling um Now, in pharmacy, we've all been too familiar with the serious problems of polypharmacy for quite a long time, even if the national media and the public at large are not particularly as familiar, certainly as we are.
