that you'll have heard me, Tim LaFave, John Davis, Yossi Fine, anyone who's been associated with Nerve, with Jojo Mayer's band, have that setting.

And because MXR modeled one of my 1982 Japanese OC2s to make the vintage bass octave, it's the closest thing I've really heard in terms of sound and feel to the sound I'm so used to from that old pedal.

and touring with a new like a modern build so much more confidence that I can have in that that it's not going to die on me and you know I'm not taking a crazy expensive vintage pedal out on the road plus it's a sort of one of those micro chassis things so it's a lot smaller in terms of its footprint so that's the first mono pedal I have the Mantic Hulk and actually what you're hearing there sort of granular bleeping and blooping in the background is not from the hulk at all it is an error it's a glitch um that happens even when this next pedal is disengaged i have no idea why it happens sometimes it really annoys me and sometimes it's absolutely perfect for the moment that there's this extra texture in there but the mantic is basically a sub harmonic in that you know fx32 the the dod meatbox kind of world but to me it crushes both the original and the reissue of the meat box.

And if you've seen one of the latest SBL videos that I was in with Ian Martin-Allison sort of recreating bass lines, there's a moment of, I think it's Bjork's Hyper Ballad, where I used that.

Like I usually, I have my pedal board here.

I do the MXR base DI and I put the distortion unit on it.

So I need to save that unit just for when like the tempo picks up and it's I need to save that because really, if you listen to the whole track, there's where it drops out and then it goes double time.

And that's really crazy.

This is a weird one.

They released the Slash Signature Talk Box.

But sometimes if it's just a crazy loud situation, I didn't have very much time to warm up, and I know I'm going to be mashing it a little bit, then I'll kick it on for the first five or six songs just to make sure I feel like I'm Hitting my lids, you know, and once my confidence gets back up, I'll click it off.

And what else? Oh, just like a MXR, like analog delay.

So I think that's probably all the same as last time I talked to you, except for that compressor.

You have a GigRig QuarterMaster, um, two, like double loop Version.

Then you've got below that the bass, chorus, and a tap tempo switch from MXR.

To the left on the bottom, you have two rows of the QuarterMaster fours that are just m- kind of lined up back to back.

So it looks like he's got 10 total loops but are disaggregated in four, four, and two.

So that must be the Geddy Lee thing, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah.

Geddy Lee, and then you've got a synth b- or b- uh, yeah, a synth pedal, the bass synth pedal from MXR.

And then you've got an Air Child, which is kinda like a Fairchild compressor, with a dog paw, um, foot switch.

Sometimes I have to turn on stack a couple more overdrives to be able to hammer on right but sure then from the pitchfork we got the the MXR Duke of tone oh yeah cool let's hear that thing love it and then uh going into this the acclam pedals dr robert which i'm relatively new to huh what's that um this is this thing is sweet it's it's got a

nice yeah and it's got a lead channel

of mind-melting

And and then we're going out to MXR's brand new pedal the textures which right now I'm using for this Wow Just to kind of, to get a little dissonant.

Yeah.

That's probably, to me, is the most important thing that I hear when I hear the classic 80s pop albums, rock albums, guys like Dan Huff, Michael Landau, Steve Lukather.

um there's always some sort of chorus uh there's a thing you know the rack effects was a big thing back in the 80s shout out to bob bradshaw but um you know there was a tri-stereo chorus was something that they employed a lot really steer any kind of stereo chorus uh rack gear today we've got this mxr stereo chorus we're running it in mono but we still have that amazing chorusing sound So this was a great find.

This is like, let's say, an early 80s MXR stereo chorus, hardwired.

And then for delay, Stereo delay was big back then.

This is when they started getting into digital delays.

i don't know i just like getting into some of those things uh you know and those are just a couple examples i mean like you know uh i mean uh got this one more pedal i'll show you like kind of a cool uh that way to use this envelope filter.

I like the original MXR, the one Jerry Garcia used.

It's the MXR, you know, from the 70s, just a two-knob deal.

But Analog Man makes this version of that with a few more controls.
