Monitor Audio has launched a four-strong range of fire hoods engineered specifically for its Creator Series in-ceiling and in-wall speakers.

The hoods are designed to maintain the fire performance of ceilings and walls once an architectural speaker has been installed, giving integrators a compliant manufacturer-matched solution at a time when fire protection is becoming a core part of CI planning.

The range comprises four models: CSFH, CMLFH, WMFH, and WLFH, covering the complete Creator Series portfolio.

The new hoods are installed around the rear of the speaker before it's fixed into the ceiling or wall.

Once in place, they create a protective enclosure that restores the fire rating of the construction.

Monitor Audio says the hoods also help reduce sound transmission into adjacent spaces, and their semi-sealed air volume can support improved bass performance and overall dynamics.

uh so it's a so basically they've they've created some fire hoods which work with their creator series so the range comprises of four models the csfh the cml fh the wmfh and the wl fh covering the complete creator series portfolio each hood is purposely designed for its corresponding speaker type ensuring that the consistent installation method and predictable performance across the range I wanted to really touch on this because some people might be listening to this going, oh, it's only a fire hood.

If you want to plan for the future...

Put more wires around the room if you're fabric wrapping it, you know, so they can upgrade.

You know, use a decent soundbar from someone like Monitor Audio or Kef or Artcoustic where you might be putting a three-channel soundbar in an LCR that you could always put more speakers onto later with a bigger, more powerful, more channel amp.

Run that cable just in case.

Monitor Audio has introduced a new family of in-wall subwoofers and dedicated DAIR DSP amplification as part of its growing install-friendly Creator Series.

The three-tier range comprises the WS1, W10, WS2, W12 and WS3, W12.

Each sub is engineered with its own bespoke rear enclosure and precisely matched to create a Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.

Subwoofers are driven by the all-new IA500-S amplifier, while Tier 3 WS3-W12 is paired with the powerful IA750-2 installation amplifier.

all fit within conventional 4-inch wall depths, allowing high output base to be specified in projects where deeper 6-inch cavities are not available.

The WS1-W10 uses a 10-inch CCAM driver, while the WS2-W12 and WS3-W12 step up to low-profile high-excursion 12-inch units featuring Monitor Audio's RHT 2-cone geometry.

This design is a side to help control cone breakup and improves dispersion, producing cleaner, more consistent bass.
