Messiah University

So I figured I wanted to switch my major to something that was more relevant to ministry.

I didn't want to switch to Bible because I do not recommend going to Messiah for a Bible degree.

I did want to switch to something that would be more, I guess, humanities focused where I'd be able to write more because I do love writing.

So I ended up switching to philosophy and physics because I still really like math.

I like it.

Do you get the feeling that People are just using AI to write their papers now, like your fellow students.

How does Messiah treat that?

I think it's more complicated than just like, oh, everyone's using AI.

Yes, you do.

I think I was through there on a family vacation when I was a kid.

And then some years ago, I was doing a guest lecture at Messiah College, and I went through Lancaster again.

Lancaster again.

He and his wife, Jan.

But years ago, he told me this story.

I actually think when I was visiting Messiah College, he told me this story about a student of his.

who was Lutheran, and that when this student, Lutheran student was in high school, he had very acute anxiety problems.

And thank you for writing this book, Steve.

Peter, I think you may have actually started out in academia, if I'm correct, at Messiah College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Tell us a little bit about your journey in this succession area.

Yeah.

Who I am? Well, for 30 plus years, I've been a social scientist.

I've worked at four different faith-based institutions, one Catholic, one Pentecostal, one Southern Baptist, and now I'm at Messiah University, which is the Anabaptist, sort of this amalgam of various faiths, but sort of Mennonite in tradition.

Anyway, it's been a very ecumenical journey for me as a as a faculty member.

And God's given me a writing ministry for a lot of years.

But, but, um, it, it's, it's becoming a, a, the, I mean, the numbers increase every year.

It's at the Messiah College, which is in, uh, you know, Mechanicsburg.

So it's, as I said, it's handy.

You could probably throw a stone to where AMPS has the nationals at.
