Let's get into it.

So Maryland voters are choosing a governor and a lieutenant governor, a comptroller, attorney general, all eight members of our U.S. House delegation and members of the Maryland General Assembly local offices.

Judicial contests also appear depending on where you live.

There is no regularly scheduled Maryland U.S. Senate election this year, and this is not a presidential election.

Fully autonomous vehicles could dramatically increase our options for transportation, but only if public policy permits blind people to use that technology and accessibility is incorporated into its development.

I have testified before the Maryland General Assembly on autonomous vehicle legislation on behalf of the National Federation of the Blind.

In both 2025 and 2026, those legislative debates brought together lawmakers, disability advocates, transportation interests, technology companies, labor organizations, and others with widely differing perspectives.

That is the reality of advocacy.

But today I'm going to be a little shorter than these guys were, but mine's to the point, and you've got to know we love you.

How's it going?

We can end stride.

Two years ago, the Maryland General Assembly passed a policy reforming stride that put a lot of guardrails, made sure we were doing cost effectiveness tests and they weren't excessively replacing pipes because that's the most profitable thing for them to do.

Two years later, that policy has been fought by the utilities every step of the way.

and has still not fully been implemented.

But this is already the trend that the market is going in.

There's a lot that we can do to help us deploy heat pumps more.

We can fully spend and get out the door the $72 million that the Maryland General Assembly set aside for heat pump rebates.

It's a great policy as part of the Utility Relief Act.

And to be a little more specific,

Adam referenced our legislative committee, which meets weekly during the Maryland General Assembly session.

And that's a real opportunity where Matt and I go through all the bills and ask for feedback.

We do reports in advance of the actual committee meeting.

Rawlings-Blake was from Ashburton.

Ashburton and Park Heights are two different worlds still to this day, and her dad was one of the most powerful men in the Maryland General Assembly.

Uh, God rest his soul, right? Like, they're like family to me, but we grew up in a different world.

Before Blake was Sheila Dixon, grew up middle class in the '60s.

runsAnd then they have to pursue them, and then they put other citizens at risk.

Now we're gonna get into how Maryland has now become, uh, a sanctuary state, a de facto sanctuary state because of the laws passed by the Maryland General Assembly.

Now you have these local jurisdictions, they want their piece of, uh, pound of flesh as well, uh, out of ICE agents.

And Calvin Ball at Howard County now becoming the latest, uh, sanctuary county where illegal aliens now though, they can probably, uh, hang out in Howard County, along with Baltimore County and a few other areas where they know they're not gonna be pursued by ICE agents because, you know, the public is gonna get in the way.

So what happens? What happens when you basically make it difficult for ICE agents to do their jobs? Uh, it...

And we predicted this when the first law passed, the Maryland General Assembly, when the Community Trust Act passed, and now of course you have, uh, this online, um, informant, uh, form, what- whatever you wanna call it, report form, snitch form, whatever it is, that, uh, illegal aliens, especially the criminal illegal aliens, are gonna get released back into Howard County.

Uh, or they might, might be not, might be arrested in the first place.
