You know, never thought I'd be a nonprofit guy, but, uh, one of the funders of Team R2B, Bernie Marcus Foundation, he was the founder of Home Depot, and one of their program officers, a, a Green Beret.

We started talking about, well, how come, um...

And Jim Lorraine, who was at America's Warrior Partners, but another nonprofit.

Um, there's al- half of the veterans in the country aren't connected to any VSO, Legion, VFW, right? Any, anyone that does policy.

And so the idea was what if we could connect them through their smartphone, right? Like, and so we, you know, I'm, I'm no tech wizard, but I got to know Ruszak and the Marcus Foundation and Lorraine through my, my, uh, R2B job.

And so they came, "Well, Garrett, can you build this for us?" I'm like, "I don't know anything about that stuff." They're like, "You'll figure it out." And so, um, th- they brought me on.
