Manton Consolidated Schools is tightening security after a September incident in which a student showed a gun to another student.

On a school bus, the district is adding five new measures, including requiring high school students to keep backpacks in lockers, locking classroom doors during instruction, and escorting students to their cars during the school day.

Lunch entrances will be monitored and students are being asked not to wear blankets.
