So in rural Pennsylvania where I lived, there was nary a vintage store or even a skate shop unless I got someone to drive me 45 minutes to Lancaster where there was a cool vintage store called Checkered Past that also sold Manic Panic.

And I think there was another store outside Harrisburg, so like another 45-minute drive, that sold Doc Martens and some of the skate brands.

I mean, that was it for cool shopping.

Bro, I was always so jealous of people that had the bravery to do a hairdo like that.

As far as I could get, I would put some Manic Panic in my hair, but I wouldn't bleach it first.

So it was just little undertones of gross brown, green.

And then I would say things like, yo, do you like that song Fat Lip? I love Fat Lip.

I used regular boxed dyes and didn't mix my own colors.

I mean, just asking a question, right? I didn't know that was a thing either, but you learn something new every day, right? OP then comes in and says, "I don't know.

Maybe it's not super common, but I've been doing it for years, and someone else with dyed hair told me to do it.
