The first entrants are expected to include AI-enabled devices that flag patients at higher risk of complications from long-term conditions.

MHRA Chief Executive Lawrence Talon and Trust Chief Executive Mark Cubbon framed it as pairing faster access with safety, and as a test bed for more proportionate life cycle-based regulations.
