Now, to that point, and it's not just foreigners, um, although we'll get there in a second, just, just to this broader point, something that Steve and I have been hitting on a lot lately, but it is the idea- These kind of sneaky shell game ways that a lot of these government grants doing very, you know, non-Trump administration core things, um, jamming refugees through, resettling more immigrants, you'll oftentimes see one government agency or cabinet, you know, secretary department cancel a grant only for it to pop up under a new semi-euphemistic or less kind of charged language name so it probably won't get flagged to see basically the same mission be carried out.

For example, one of the kind of tech platforms that really is the, you know, nuts and bolts of how refugees are resettled across the United States, um, it's a, it's a platform called Global Refuge.
Natalie WintersHOST

Um, they had their funding ceased by State Department, but then all of a sudden you see them get a new, you know, multi-million dollar contract, I believe from HHS, to continue running their operations uninterrupted so they could have, in their words, quote, "uninterrupted resettlement operations," which is code for continuing to jam through as many third world migrants as possible into the most red-blooded patriotic towns.
Natalie WintersHOST

Um, there's a broader trend though on a lot of these grants, a lot of the ones having to do with DEI and equity and all the weird, you know, race stuff, um, the CRT, the critical race theory.

47:55
Um, they don't give this stuff up.

The, you know, immigrant industrial complex, um, frankly hasn't really seen any ramifications for its actions under Joe Biden, so why would they stop doing what they're doing? Um, to that point, Global Refuge, which is this technological platform that actually allows refugees to be plowed into middle America, it's one of the partners of that AI refugee matching tool I was just talking about, um, the State Department cut their funding, um, back, you know, in the start of the administration.

But it's really interesting because even though they lost their funding from state, not too long ago they got a new multi-million dollar grant from HHS, which I would posit is probably the roguish-

Zak PaineHOST

That is according to the White House.

Another group was Global Refuge.

This is an immigration nonprofit led by a former policy director for one Michael Obama.

The cuts drew rebuke from Republicans and Democrats alike, including Senator Susan Collins of Maine.
Shawn VanDiverGUEST

We brought this initially.
Shawn VanDiverGUEST

Um- It's endorsed by No One Left Behind, by Global Refuge, by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, by Refugees International, by HIAS, by all...
Shawn VanDiverGUEST
42:58
Like, I think we have over 100 endorsements.
Shawn VanDiverGUEST
43:01
We've been collecting the endorsements, and it's wild.
Natalie WintersGUEST
26:47
There's no way around it.
Natalie WintersGUEST
26:48
And Steve, to that point, there are a lot of these programs, another group called Global Refuge, it's the kinda data platform that they use to funnel refugees across the entire country.
Natalie WintersGUEST
26:59
One agency pulls the funding for it, the State Department did, but then there's $2 million allocated right after the pull from HHS.
Natalie WintersGUEST
27:08
So you see this kind of, you know, shifting around of funding for all of these pro-refugee destroy America groups.

The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General issued a report on the Florida Immigration Detention Center, known as Alligator Alcatraz.
Janine JacksonHOST
1:27
I first heard about the report that documents the now-closed facility as failing to meet all kinds of federal detention standards and human rights norms on overcrowding, on medical care, food service, and hygiene from a humanitarian group called Global Refuge.
Janine JacksonHOST
1:44
Then I saw some media outlets acknowledge it.
Janine JacksonHOST
1:47
CBS News says that the OIG found detainees were not provided sufficient living space, just 28 square feet per detainee, less than half of the 75 square feet required under Florida state jail standards.
Janine JacksonHOST
3:19
But Washington Post editorialists know that that's the same administration that they credit as telling the truth on the daily.
Janine JacksonHOST
3:27
Because, yeah, metal enclosures 52 inches by 52 inches might, as NBC News dutifully repeated from Alcatraz signage, quote, provide a safe and secure place in the general population for detainees to reflect on their behavior choice, manage their emotions, reduce stress, and practice self-directed behavior, close quote.
Janine JacksonHOST

Meanwhile, the head of Global Refuge said, quote, Close quote.

What corporate media won't see is that running one story or one strongly worded editorial is insufficient to countervail the day-after-day reporting that presents violence, cruelty, and criminality dealt out in the name of immigration policy as an acceptable part of our dialogue, while those that have been fighting it from the beginning are still marginal.
