So the Trinity ends their regular season with a brilliant fourth place finish, guaranteeing that this game was the first of a two-parter as both sides will indeed face each other in Wakefield this coming Friday.

And it was a professional steady showing from Trinity in a bit of an odd game, if I'm honest, as both sides knew they were in the playoffs and maybe didn't want to play at their highest level, particularly the Leopards who could have fallen to sixth if other things had gone against them on Friday night.

But the Supreme, Tom Johnston, finished in the corner for the opening two tries for Wakefield, looking back to his very best before Max Jawa added two from the tee and then Jake Truman added a one-pointer to give them a 13-0 lead at the break with Lee going scoreless.

The Leopards did get the first score of the second half as Owen Trout managed to touch the ball down through Corey Hall's legs on the goal line before Mason Lino was then sent to the sin bin leading to an immediate score in the corner from Innes Senior.

The kicking boots were not with the Leopards for this one and Trinity held them off before sealing the win through Cam Scott in the corner there with just two minutes to play with a really courageous finish through contact.

So Elliot, highest ever Super League finish for the Trinity to go from.

And if you look at the last three seasons, first in the championship, sixth in Super League, now fourth.

And I think what they showed is how important a fast competitive start is in these kind of games.

But the squad, I think he'll be in the squad, definitely.

Just on Lee as well, just obviously something to point out, which is probably massive for the club as well, they haven't missed the playoffs since coming back as the Lee Leopards.
