An international team of researchers, led by Joseph Farrer and using the Las Cumbres Observatory's global network of 27 telescopes, monitored the supernova continuously for more than 200 days.

What they found in the light curve was unprecedented.

The brightness of the supernova did not just rise and fall smoothly, it pulsed.
