And actually, L3Harris bought the company that was doing the best work in this space, trying to build some of these saltwater, lithium reaction fuel cells.

And there's problems.

You create a lot of oxide layers that you then have to get off of the plates.

This is why I like companies actually being proactive and getting involved.

Let's look at one real quick, the, uh, L3Harris deal with the government.

Basically what was going on there is L3Harris is involved in a lot of things.

One of them is making the engines that go into munitions.

The government needs them to ramp up munitions.

L3Harris was looking at that like, "That's great, but that's also the lowest margin part of my business, so why do I want to invest my capital in adding capacity there?" So the deal was, "Well, spin that out.

We'll provide capital.

You know, I did write a post last night covering L3Harris.

I decided not to buy L3Harris.

um, today, you know, even though it's, um, it might, I do sniff some value out there, but at this point of my investing journey, you know, adding more L3 Harris is not something I necessarily need to do.

Just don't need to do that.

He leads their global business that generates over $7 billion annually across electronic solutions, navigation sensor systems, software and connected systems with electronic warfare capabilities and satellite systems.

And over the course of his remarkable career, he's led not just roles at Honeywell, L3Harris, Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Spirit, and Lockheed Martin, contributing to some of the more sophisticated aerospace and defense ecosystems, including the F-35 joint strike fighter.

Uh, and at a time where, you know, AI and autonomy and cyber resilience and, uh, you know, the, the growing importance of, of space are reshaping both national security and modern civilization itself, Matt really finds himself at a center of one of the most consequential technological transitions in history, and we're gonna be exploring, you know, the future of aerospace and defense with him, as well as the evolution of a lot of these really cool technologies, uh, and what the next couple decades may hold.

So honored to have him.

You can see basically flat here pre-market, but we'll keep an eye out.

Bottom line here, hundreds of billions of dollars are going into missiles and munitions, some to traditional players like most recently, just yesterday, L3Harris, which is helping to make Patriot inter- interceptors, and some is going, increasingly more, is going to new entrants.

Uh, and it has big impacts for the investment landscape and for the stocks, but also for the US economy.

Wait, so the military is essentially renting its own intelligence aircraft? In a sense, yes.

And there's also Athena R, the radar variant, developed by L3Harris and Mag Aerospace.

Two of those have been operating out of South Korea since February 2025.

Both variants are feeding into the HADES program, the High Altitude Detection System, which is supposed to combine SIGINT and radar into one multi-intelligence platform.

It's a next-generation electronic warfare system designed specifically for the F-16, incorporating modern DR-FM jamming capability, a high-performance radar warning receiver, and an advanced signal processor that can classify and respond to complex, rapidly changing threats faster than legacy systems.

L3Harris developed it in partnership with Northrop Grumman, who contributed the radio frequency hardware.

The system is designed to counter the kinds of threats allied F-16 operators are most likely to face in a high-end conflict.
