Kurzweil Music Systems

Yeah.

In terms of sound modules, again, very basic stuff, apart from the Kurzweil sampler, which I talked about in the last episode.

We had D110, which is where that marimba sound comes from, which is on waiting and tumbling down and things like that.

That also had some quite good drum sounds on it, some nice drum, some cymbal sounds, ride cymbals and things that we would use became part of our sound.

You'd have a ride cymbal coming off of this sound module.

You'd have a clap coming from here.

And you'd have a sample drum loop coming out the Kurzweil, which is being mangled with some nice tambourines and things.

And in a bass sound from over here and in a wash from here.

If you were closer by, I'd give you this one to give to your son.

This is the old Yamaha that's getting swapped out for the Kurzweil that I repaired.

But it would probably cost a lot to ship to Canada and probably not allowed to ship to Canada anymore.

They'd have to tear the fuck out of that.

Uh, just a, a quick, uh, recap.

Uh, I bought this super cheap on, uh, Facebook Marketplace.

It is exactly the same philosophy, just applied to a different sensory input.

So Kurzweil founded a new company, Kurzweil Music Systems, and moved away from simple oscillators.

He pioneered advanced digital sampling and acoustic modeling.

He did.
