I mean, today, if I were to build a...

I would love a great stereo... sound system with a pair of Klipsch speakers and maybe a Macintosh amplifier, preamplifier combination.

It could be tubes, that's fine.

And a decent source for it, maybe a high bitrate CD format, DSD, DVD, whatever the new... formula is.

these are, I actually bought a pair of these.

These are not my exact, I didn't take this photo, but this is the exact model.

These are the Klipsch KG4s.

They came out in the early 80s.

I think the next picture shows, uh, how you protected the speakers once they were in.

Yeah, so these are all, uh, Klipsch speakers, in-walls.

Uh, as you can see, that bracket should be behind the drywall.

It was on the face.

Um, but the, uh, yeah, the covers were put in place so that as they were continuing to do painting and move anything around, those were entirely protected, uh, until we put the grills on.

Right.

And as you said, those are Klipsch Pro 25RQ LCR-

When Chloe was brand new, like three months old, she used to like...

I used to have a Klipsch subwoofer under my desk as a footrest.

And when that Klipsch 5.1 speaker set was on, it was nice and warm.

So she liked to lay on top of it.

And I did something that annoyed her one day.

My dad is an immigrant from Ireland, and he had a hi-fi business for about 35 years in New York.

And so, like he, we'd always have nice turntables, McIntosh p- uh, amps, tube amps, Klipsch speakers, e- everything, you know.

Mm-hmm.

And the very first like, uh, Betamax c- he had, and I remember pausing Empire Strikes Back and I, and there was a million lines through it, but I was, I couldn't believe that I was in control and I could stop the television.

And then there was a, a local speaker designer named Mark Wayne, who had a company called Harbinger, not to be confused with the current Guitar Center in-house brand.

And Mark was quite the whiz kid, and he had reverse engineered a Klipsch La Scala and built something in that same form factor, but instead of the Klipsch components, it was an 18-inch Cerwin-Vega woofer, a two-inch JBL 2440, and a one-inch JBL 2410.

And we had those, and then we added subs to those.

And then he designed his, what they called the Cateye Harbinger speakers, which were horn-loaded 15s in a, uh...

Actually, Klipsch would eventually call this a Tractix horn.

But it was, yeah, definitely, there was more horn loading than there was an Altec cabinet, but the high frequency horns remained the same.

So we ran those for a long time.

So they're up on the website along with the Sonus one.

I would actually be excited about a car that had a La-Z-Boy brand seat.
