Kids' WB

This strikes me as having been something that was on, like, ABC Family or something like that.

Yeah, or, like, even, like, WB Kids or some- Kids WB or something.

Yeah.

All right.

When we did the second batch of Batman episodes, we had also switched networks.

We went from Fox Kids to Kids WB.

So one of the things they asked us was to kind of rebrand the show a little bit to make it a little bit different.

So we said, well, how can we make it different but still the same? So we thought, okay, we'll lean in more towards the Batgirl and we'll have Nightwing, Robin become Nightwing.

And when I would come home, like we didn't have cable growing up.

So like my go-to's were Kids WB, PBS, and then occasionally Fox.

So, like, for me, a lot of the stuff that I loved watching growing up was somewhere between, like, Arthur, Kratts Creatures, Bill Nye.

And on the flip side, action cartoons like Jackie Chan Adventures, Shaolin Showdown.

Fine, I'll say it now.

According to Volopedia, when these episodes aired on Kids WB, you know how Mime Jr. and Weavile are with Team Rocket and we have a scene of Lucario and Mew in the tree?

Yes.

Okay, that was the case during their initial airing.

Like, I just kinda [laughs] watched what I thought was enjoyable.

I will comment though that there's a large delineation between Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel shows, I think.

Yep, and without further ado, let's talk about Bray Noir.

So Bray Noir first premiered on September 12, 1997 on Kids WB, and Bray Noir was written by Wendell Morris and Tom Shepard and directed by Charles Visser.

Animation was done by Rough Draft, and there is no title card for this episode.

So this episode begins with an underwater shot of Brain, who is donned in a trench coat, face down in the water.

Like, I never super actively watched any of the TV shows.

I watched a little bit of Lunatics Unleashed because it was on Kids WB.

Oh, Batman Beyond Bugs.

Yeah.

I was like, what's going on here? I'm not a cartoon scholar.

My credentials are watching lots of Looney Tunes movies and reruns on, like, Cartoon Network and probably Nickelodeon when I was a kid and then watching Tiny Toon Adventures and Kids WB and all that stuff.

So I don't have, like, the backstory.

Like, I guess, like, I don't know, like, when you get into, like, the 60s, I think it's about as far as you usually go for, like, some of this stuff.
