KFC in Japan

...

KFC Japan, you can't go to a KFC on Christmas Day because they take bookings, and I just love...

It's, it's unbelievable.

Yeah.

Per the Straits Times, KFC America thought it should be sent over to the Chicago Cubs to try and break their losing streak.

KFC Japan was honored to have it placed in a number of locations, so long as it was protected.

After all, the kernel had been through a lot.

Eventually, it was decided that the repaired kernel would be placed on a KFC franchise near the Tigers' home stadium.

Without his left hand and glasses, and possibly feet, he isn't the man or statue that he once was.

And that's enough to explain, per the McGill Tribune, why the Tigers made it to the Japan Series in 2014, five years after the Colonel was recovered and still lost.

Historian Trevor Rakura writes that after a few years near the stadium, the statue was removed and relocated a few different times among KFC Japan offices, sometimes displayed, sometimes kept under, quote, lock and key.

So far, it has not made a difference for the Tigers, who lost the Central League pennant just last year.
