But my point in saying there, you said there's examples of folks who have maybe some faith and have some struggles.

One of them I came across in the last couple of decades that really is inspirational to me is a woman named Joni Eareckson Tada.

You ever heard of she's a paraplegic, I think, in a sense, and speaking in that way where there's like, OK, well, Her joy, whenever she speaks, I think that's what she did, like inspirational messages, a lot of passions that she has would go after and do that you wouldn't think somebody who is disabled in that way could do even.

But her joy, right? Let's not even count the accomplishments of things that she does that you're like, how is she even doing that without being able to move like the way she could like we do? And it's like, okay, but her joy in it, right? Her excitement for life is otherworldly.

Vine un día en que no habrá más sillas de ruedas, ni más hospitales, ni más quimioterapias, ni más funerales.

Joni Eareckson Tada lo dice mejor que yo.

Lo primero que van a hacer estas piernas que están aquí en esta silla de ruedas, cuando sean glorificadas, será arrodillarse delante del Rey de Reyes y Señor de Señores.

Esa es nuestra esperanza también.

Que su palabra sea nuestra primera fuente de autoridad y no la última.

Y cuando visitemos al enfermo, ponga en nuestros labios palabras de verdad y de consuelo, no promesas falsas que usted nunca ha hecho.

Señor, a los que en este momento se encuentran sufriendo, recuérdeles que usted no los ha abandonado, que usted se sienta a su lado en ese cuarto de hospital o en esa cama en su casa, que usted se conduele de sus debilidades y que por su gracia, esa gracia que levantó a Pablo, esa gracia que ha sostenido a Joni Eareckson Tada por más de cincuenta años, esa gracia es suficiente también para cada uno de nosotros.

Ahora, Señor, delante de su presencia, queremos reconocer, Padre, que en nuestras dolencias recordamos lo que su Hijo Jesucristo padeció en la cruz.

You should know that God specializes in answering prayers like that, prayers that seem impossible.

In fact, I'm praying such a prayer right now.

[gentle music]

I learned through ultrasound at four months pregnant that my daughter Sarah had Down syndrome, and I was appalled at how aggressively the medical community pressured me to consider abortion just because Sarah has an extra chromosome.

So I'm joining Joni in lifting impossible prayers up before the Lord, and I hope you are, too, because with God, all things are possible.

Yes, even restoring the heart of our nation to safeguard life.

When it comes to birthdays, our friend Joni does much more than blow the candles out on her cake.

She knows that every October 15th is, for her, well, it's a miraculous milestone.

And Joni, today you've reached your 77th birthday.

I can just hear our friends listening, shouting, "Happy birthday, Joni."

[laughs] Oh, a- and don't I know it.

I've got lots of friends who are praising God along with me.

[laughs]

And then for the parents out there, this is a completely different direction.

Uh, but I was asked to write Joni Eareckson Tada's authorized biography, which will also be coming out in the summer of 2027.

So that's been a huge joy and a privilege-
