So the three that are up for battle today are Isetan, founded, well, uh, in Singapore in 1972, Metro, founded in 1973, and OG, which actually, we gotta give them credit, they started in 1962 as Ocean Garments, that's why OG, but then they first went into department store territory in 1971.

So which would be your take? Would it be Isetan, Metro, or OG? Which one do you resonate with more?

I remember my mom would used to bring me to Isetan to get all the free samples.

It's like, wow, great stuff, man.

But also the truth is, I feel grocery stores, and there's been so much research around it, grocery stores are intentionally designed to make you feel happy, relaxed, and all that, so that you can spend more money and spend more time there, right? Because every additional unit of time you spend there, there's more things going into your cart.

Hmm.

For instance, Tokyo's Isetan Shinjuku is super trendy and refined.

But then down in Osaka, Hankyu Umeda is incredibly vibrant and loud, with vendors actually calling out to you.

Yeah, the contrast is amazing, and the food itself directly reflects the changing seasons in Japan, too.

Where wholesale, you're in Barney's and like, okay, cool.

You're going to open up Isetan.

You're going to be in all the dopest stores in Japan because you sold Barney's where buyers were like in line.

It was like the opposite.
