I've been a nurse executive for over 24 years, or a nurse for over 24 years, and I've worked across the country in many nurse executive roles.

But having now been at Intermountain for three and a half years, we've done some incredible things within nursing with the team, and I couldn't be more proud to be here to share some of that with you today.

I've been a nurse executive for over 24 years, or a nurse for over 24 years, and I've worked across the country in many nurse executive roles.

But having now been at Intermountain for three and a half years, we've done some incredible things within nursing with the team, and I couldn't be more proud to be here to share some of that with you today.

And let's dive into exactly that.

So what made you want to be an entrepreneur? What made you? choose this life that's so fun

it uh i think it chose me you know i know i uh was your dad an entrepreneur he wasn't that's the crazy thing my dad ran hospitals he was a hospital administrator you know went and got his degree got a degree from byu uh went back east got a degree from johns hopkins university then one from george washington university i mean he went He took the time and went down that path and ended up as the CEO of IHC, Intermountain Healthcare here in Utah.

So my dad, yeah, incredible career, was the administrator for LDS Hospital, Cottonwood Hospital, Altaview Hospital, and then ultimately kind of got into the corporate side of things and was the CEO of IHC.

And then he was recruited by Holy Cross Health Systems to run a nationally recognized hospital chain.

What WellTrio does is we help companies that are either self-insured or, you know, or to become self-insured to save money on their insurance.

And so we're not, we actually don't even encourage them to change insurance carriers because that's what a lot of people, just a broker does is like, oh, you're at Blue Cross, let's get you over at IHC or whatever it is, right? We're actually more of a consultant.

More so, what I like about it is our coaching.

And this is what, if I would have had this back then, it would have helped.

Yes, and as you were mentioning, you and I first met back in, and I had to look back to see when that was.

It was back in 2008, so 18 years ago, Brent, when I first enrolled in the Intermountain Healthcare's Advanced Training Program in Clinical Practice Improvement that you ran.

Yeah.

And through this program, you've personally trained more than 5000 senior physicians, nursing and administrative executives from around the world in clinical management methods with proven improvement results.

And it was enacted by the U.S. federal government to protect sensitive patient medical records and personal health information.

And, you know, again, making that work within a clinical setting and making sure it's part of our workflow, important area of work You mentioned variation and standardizing care and clinical decision support.

And you were formerly chief quality officer and executive director of the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City.

And Intermountain is often held up as a model.

So I'm slowing down.

I'm buying points, but I'm currently at an IHC today that I bought points for to stay out.

So that was nice.

So yeah, so my tips for this.

Uh, a couple years ago they did it out here in Eagle Mountain.

They get a bunch of, uh, Utah helicopter companies, like, you know, Intermountain, uh, Life Flight.

You've got AirMed, uh, and a bunch of other, like, flight schools and other operators that bring in probably ...

I think I saw the itinerary, and I think it had, like, seven or eight different helicopters that they land out on one of the fields.
