I kind of tripped into it, so to speak.

I got my start working for a small real estate brokerage in the San Francisco Bay Area and then went on to work for Inman News for many years.

So Inman, how was that experience? I know the gravitate, Inman, you know, in the real estate space, Inman takes up a lot of the sense of, again, giving back the knowledge and stuff like that.

How was it working with Inman?

Yeah.

I actually got a chance to interview Enes and his team for Inman News.

So that was a lot of fun learning about how they get access to these real cool properties.

But really, it just came back to a lot of my clients were purchasing new.

And Reffkin came with a message.

According to Inman News reporting, Reffkin told the attendees that Compass intended to begin filing antitrust lawsuits against MLS organizations by mid-October.

And he argued that what Compass wanted was straightforward, the freedom to advertise listings on its own website.

And he made the case that the seller and the law, rather than the MLS, should control how the m- home is marketed.

But that doesn't necessarily mean a brokerage has the unrestricted right to participate in an MLS and disregard its rules of participation, and that's the legal and practical distinction here.

Now back to the conference.

Inman News reported that the room was very tense.

Some attendees actually described the presentation as extremely uncomfortable and said that all Reffkin did was read a prepared statement.
