American Youth Hostels, Inc.

Feeling like I had somehow outgrown the camp, I decided not to return to Buck and Beaver the following summer of 1980.

But my friendship with one of my fellow assistant counselors, Steve from Scarsdale, led to my introduction to the American Youth Hostels Organization, AYH, and the bike tours they organized for teenagers.

A few weeks before the start date, he asked if I wanted to accompany him on a month-long trip organized by AYH to Canada.

It was called the Two Provinces, referring to Ontario and Quebec, with an itinerary beginning in Toronto and ending in Montreal.
