The fresh Hongqi development is a camouflaged electric SUV testing in both New South Wales and Victoria.

I've already covered the brand's planned Australian arrival, so this update is about the vehicle's local development work.

The prototype has been photographed around Goulburn and in Victoria and has been identified in reporting as the SUV developed jointly by Hongqi and Leapmotor.

seeing it across two states gives us more to follow than a static display or an overseas announcement however sightings alone don't tell us the full testing program or its results its final model name and Australian specification remains unconfirmed this particular SUV also hasn't been confirmed for Australian sale there are overseas reports about its range extender technology however the precise configuration of the Australian test vehicle hasn't been formally established.
