back to your question, I think the art world is finally getting it.

Crystal Bridges will do a show, 30 cars, the High Museum in Atlanta, a bunch of cars, and so forth.

So cars, and they've been lending cars out here, and they're one-offs.

But I think the tide is turning.

So it's like, damn, you know, that, that 60 seconds that, that, that you saw, you know, is, is, is going to, you know, it's gonna make you think, oh damn, well next time I need to look to, you know, keep an eye on my emails to see when the next Funk Jazz or the High Museum or Ron Pullman or, you know, whatever, you know, House in the Park, The Weekend, whatever's going on, I need to know when that is.

So, so, you know, and, and that's, that's why I feel like I want, my purpose is just give you a little t- like the drug dealer, give you a little taste.

Obviously, if it's something like in Black Panther, where there's that whole big sequence at the High Museum of Art, that is a distinctive building.

You may also recognize it as the asylum where Hannibal Lecter lives in Manhunter.

So, you know, that's a building you can spot easily.

[instrumental music] The family of David Drake is asking museums and individuals to return to the family any Drake pieces in their collections.

That includes the High Museum in Atlanta.

David Drake, also known as Dave the Potter, was an enslaved man who was forced to handcraft more than 40,000 stoneware jars at a ceramics plantation in Edgefield, South Carolina.

Georgia museums such as the Telfair Museum in Savannah and the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens are among those institutions that have restored ownership of their Dave the Potter pieces to his family.

More than 240 of his highly valued works sit in museum and private collections across the country.

The High Museum, one of more than two dozen museums in possession of a Drake piece, confirms they've been in touch with the Drake family but had no further comment.

Georgia collected nearly two and a half billion dollars in net tax revenue in August.

That is three and a half percent more than the same month last year.

So, um, recently I was in Atlanta for the first time, and I went for, um, the Black Art in America Print Fair, and a few other things.

I checked out the, um, High Museum, and I was gonna go to the Spelman Museum, all of that different stuff.

And I was down there, and I was, you know, having an okay time.

First time I'd ever been down there.

No, I grew up in Atlanta and the high is there.

The High Museum of Art of Atlanta is there.

Believe it or not, they actually do have great art.

It's not what you think maybe.

But we also wanted people to realize that everyday people have stories worth archiving.

There's a woman that we have that we documented at the High Museum in Atlanta, and she's just a fabulously dressed person.

She designed her hat and her glasses and described her life as a walking art gallery.

I think to have you know, spent time on this planet, like you have carved out a lane, like you've created a narrative worth being shared and worth being archived.
