Then on Saturday, Cobber Football at Gustavus with a 12.30 pregame, a 1 o'clock kickoff with Brad Anderson on the call.

Central looked a little out of sorts in Week 1.

They lost 29-3 at Gustavus Adolphus.

And the Dutch have seemingly approached each of these three games a little differently from the quarterback perspective.

So after a three-way competition for the QB spot in camp, All three of those guys have had a chance at extended playing time here in the regular season, with Brett Connolly III in line, but he completed 12 of 15 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns once he came on in relief on Saturday.

Lastly, let's go up to Minnesota and check in with the ladies up there.

where St. Benedict from Minnesota wins by three in the D3 Classic, McAllister second, Gustavus third, St. Olaf fourth, Bethel five, Carlton six.

So St. Kate's not here, but Carlton finishing sixth here is a tell where we want to see where they are.

They may not be what they were last year.

Bethel's B team was tied for 11th with St. John's A team.

So the Johnnies have fallen way off.

Gustavus is also tied for 11th.

Losing Jimmy Abdo feels like we're in the middle of the pack there.

... with teams like, uh, Concordia, Gustavus-

Yeah

...

with most of those instances coming from UW-River Falls, UW-Platteville, Bethel, Utica, UW-Whitewater, Mount Union, or Johns Hopkins.

The highest leveraged games this week are Aurora at Concordia of Wisconsin, Framingham State at Mass Dartmouth, and Gustavus Adolphus at Bethel.

In general, conference games among conference title contenders are going to have considerably more playoff leverage than any non-conference game, and that's what we're starting to see this week.

The games in the NACC and MASCAC feature the two teams who have won the last two conference titles, and in both instances, at-large bids may be hard to come by due to the conference's strength of schedule.

So, I think from the women's side of things, very good early tournament results.

Looking ahead, one of the women's tournaments we want to kind of focus on for next week is the D3 Classic at Emerald Greens Golf Club in Hastings, Minnesota, hosted by our friends at Gustavus Adolphus.

So up there, so for that group, here's who was all at that tournament.

Bethel, Gustavus, Carlton, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Oshkosh, Augustana.

Now, the people that are missing here is there's no St. Kate's.

But what will be interesting to see is, all right, Gustavus, Eau Claire and Carlton.

Our defensive coordinator of the week comes to us from the state of Minnesota, Logan, who was our defensive coordinator of the week for week one.

This week, that honor goes to Landon Rowan of Gustavus Adolphus College, who had a awesome win against Central, 29-3.

I tweeted out earlier this week that it's kind of a coaching cliche during camp that your defense have come up to speed a little earlier than your offenses.

And during camp, you might see that defense winning a little bit more early.

But This week, we had eight teams with an A-plus grade on offense.

Only one team had an A-plus grade on defense, and that was Gustavus Adolphus, the Gusties.

And they did it against a great opponent.

This is the first time that Central has been kept out of the end zone since a 10-6 loss to Wartburg in 2024.

And she's our Minnesota tie.

She was born in Robbinsdale and went to Gustavus.

Gustavus.
