When the tie-in paperback edition, you know, the one with the actors on the cover, was released in December 2025, Jen Klonsky, the president of Putnam Books for Young Readers, revealed that the paperback sold 500% more copies in eight weeks than the original hardcover did during its entire initial run.

Basically, a former showgirl called Rosemary Ridgewell read an extract from the book, and she had it lying around when her lover, who was Walter Minton, the publisher, this New York publisher's called G.P. Putnam's Sons.

So she was born in London in 1842, the oldest of 11 children.

Her mother was British and her father was American, specifically George Palmer Putnam of the Wiley and Putnam Publishing Company.
