They are therefore reliant on the umbrella bodies to give them advice, and the NTVO and the SCVO, they are exactly those organisations, and you would expect them to be offering training information, legal guidance to their members and again very scant information available from those organisations and in fact evidence that they are relying on people to provide external training to them and their members who take a very strongly trans activist position on this issue.

So not only are they not giving good advice to their members, but they're actually seeking out very one-sided advice from external organisations and organisations who we know who have been influential in the public sector and the private sector in changing policies um so that's that's a matter of great concern i mean the one or the one regulator who we hadn't really hadn't crossed our path but hopefully through karen's advice is is one that might be worth considering for you know wrm members who want to take things further is the um There's a fundraising regulator for the UK and they've got a code of practice for fundraising.

So a small number of the charities that we reviewed have in fact changed their charitable objects to include, to have more than women as beneficiaries, but they in their name are using women and they're still soliciting funds from people on the basis that those funds are going to support women or women and girls.

Now, if they're doing that, that is misleading.

And they could be reported to the fundraising regulator.

And if the fundraising regulator says this is a governance issue, well, then that then goes to the charitable regulator.

So, I mean, I can't quite remember which... which of the four in there, I can't remember the names, but if they're using the word women in their title or their branding or on their website, they say, you know, we support us because we support women, but actually their charitable objects have expanded beyond women, then that's misleading.

And I think there is real scope there for women in the WRN or beyond to look at organisations in their parts of the UK and parts of Great Britain and see whether that's the case and use that mechanism because it's certainly one that wasn't really on our radar until we started digging around.

It's-- it can be a difficult job, particularly at the moment, to ask people to donate, so it's important that everybody trusts Redwings to do, uh, the, the very best thing with the funds that they raise.

So it's important that not only do we gain supporters' trust, but also that we comply with the rules set out by organizations such as the Fundraising Regulator and the Gambling Commission, who are these bodies who are there to make sure that Redwings, like any other charity, um, applies best practice and has supporters' interests at the heart of every attempt to raise funds.

It's difficult to pick out a single resident, but I think possibly the most, uh, my, my favorite resident is probably Marjorie, who is a Shetland mare who has lived at the Ada Coles Center for a, a little over 18 months now.

Um, I got to know all about her when I was, uh, researching an appeal a couple of years ago and got to meet her when she came to, uh, Hapton to the horse hospital for some dental treatment, uh, later that year.
