FTD CORP

They, they sit and then the funeral home, they either just get rid of them or, or whatnot.

Um, now FTD has come out with a new service.

It's, um, uh, almost fresh from FTD.

It, it-

Oh, nice

He had me on that.

Com- completely making that up.

But what I'm not making up is FTD's Almost Fresh-

And...

One year it was an FTD special.

So it was for, I think it was for Mother's Day.

Or maybe it was for Friendship Day.

And three days before I was leaving, I had broken up with my girlfriend and I had a one-way ticket to Europe, and it wasn't coming back, okay? And so three days before I was leaving, I get a phone call.

My parents were at a floral convention, FTD, Interflora, as it used to be called.

And your father's had a stroke.

He's paralyzed on the left side of his body.

So we go in and we start working with Betty.

And of course, back then there was FTD and Teleflora and Carrick and Redbook and AFS and all these wire services.

And she's a member of all of them.

And she's shown us these statements and she's talking about all these fees and this commission going there and that commission going there.

And I feel like you're missing out on what this stuff is and expenses and how they should be categorized.

So I goes, anyway, we can learn something about this.

She reaches behind her on a bulletin board and goes, it just so happens FTD is having a class on proper accounting for wire services.

Yeah, it was on her bulletin board.

Mm-mm.

But this time we're taking kind of a different tack because we're talking about you as a founder and your journey, because you used to work in corporate, you were in FTD.

Yes.

And it's kind of had a come full circle kind of-

It's, it's such a privilege to be able to share this time of all the cool things that we're doing, the things we, we get to do, but together is really where it's at.

So my name's Rachel, Rachel Zipsy.

I am from Michigan, and I, as you mentioned, I did spend quite a bit of time in the corporate at FTD Florist, the Florist Trans World Delivery, and it was in a corporate role supporting, developing, and really working with very small business owners in local flower shops, in local communities.

And what I loved the most about it, it actually would've been almost 26 years to the, the recording of this, and I still remember it to this day.
