Florida Sheriffs Association

The Florida Sheriffs Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation made up of the Sheriffs of Florida, approximately 3,000 business leaders and 100,000 citizens throughout the state. Founded in 1893, FSA has steadfastly served the citizens of Florida by supporting the needs of the state's law enforcement community. Through the Florida Sheriffs Association, Sheriffs are given a forum to address lawmakers to push for positive changes in Florida’s public safety arena. FSA also provides Sheriffs' Offices much-needed programs such as affordable training, special task forces and legislative and legal services. Dedicated to the prevention of juvenile delinquency and the development of lawful, productive citizens, FSA has established and funded the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches with facilities throughout the state to help restore hope, fulfill dreams, and prepare children for the future. It has grown to be one of the largest and most successful state law enforcement associations in the nation.www.flsheriffs.org

And now they're going to dive in with a lawsuit, which is going to enact every single sheriff in this state to defend this position.

I've already talked to the Florida Sheriffs Association and their legal counsel who are all standing by to witness what activities that our county take.

And if they vote their way into a major lawsuit, they're gonna be fighting the state of Florida in essence again.

They're gonna be fighting every single sheriff who is not going to sit idly by and examine the powers of their office, be challenged and snatched away from them by a single county in South Florida.

Build them a palace." Anyway, here's what Gregory Tony said, "But they're trying to impose their will on the constitutional protections that exist for sheriff's offices, and now they're gonna dive in with a lawsuit, which is gonna enact every single sheriff in this state to defend its position." It's not a well-crafted sentence, but that's what he said.

"I've already talked to Florida Sheriff's Association and their legal counsel, and we're all standing by to witness what activities that our county takes." Um, he sounds a little defensive.
Bill MickHOST

I think the question of constitutional protections might be better placed as constitutional authority and the authority that the sheriff has to be that law enforcement agency, but who's providing the money for that agency to run? Well, it's the taxpayers of the county.

He initially called for a full and immediate pause on the adoption of Flock and similar systems.

He then signaled a more gradual approach after a recent conversation with the Florida Sheriff's Association, saying that a ban was un- an unrealistic goal given how the sausage is made.

And unfortunately when budget crunches come in, you go straight to your, uh, uh, your elected officials your constables or you go straight to that I can't remember the word of it but you go to your sheriff's department you go to your tax department you go to all them and you start focusing on them and if county administrators or county commissioners would look back and focus more on hey what are things that we can change because public safety that's one thing you're going to cut it and then you're going to immediately pay for it and then you're going to be pay for it in many ways not physically or money monetarily but you're going to pay for it in crime going up and issues coming transient people coming in um and then you're going to end up screaming that hey we need to get this money back to our law enforcement we're not safe so it's instead of doing that and going down that road because you can lose lives it's just like an open border you can create a lot of damage in a crunch like that um what are some suggestions that you would have to your administrators looking forward or to other county administrators or to the public about dealing with this

You know, I think first of all, of course, you know, we as sheriffs and the Florida Sheriff's Association has literally invested millions of dollars in this.
