You know, they're a benefit management company, so they're kind of that middle person in many ways between the insurance company and the provider putting those policies together, but they have a big reach.

Um, and then there's other benefit management companies like Evolent, um, Carl- uh, Careleon, Carelon, um, that also kind of put some things together, and they're, they don't quite match.

Um, they do have some coverage for some of those benign diseases.

So eviCore is kind of calling themselves out or pulling themselves away from, from everybody else at this point and what those changes will mean.

CFO Jessica Somers is with us.

Jessica's career began in M&A before taking her into private equity and investment banking, followed by nearly nine years at Evolent, where she moved from corporate development into CFO leadership.

Today, a CFO of Aledade, she brings that deal-making and operating experience to a healthcare company focused on value-based care.

We'll explore how those different chapters shaped her thinking about investment growth and the role of finance.

Um, so I loved that work.

I enjoy kind of, you know, getting deals done, working through the complexities.

Um, but over time, you know, while that can be very satisfying, I realized I was really increasingly interested in understanding what happened after the deal closed and after my role as an advisor ended, right? Did, did the strategic thesis pan out? Like, what worked? What didn't work? And, and that really led me, uh, to move from a, you know, advisory role to going in-house, uh, to a corporate development team at Evolent Health, as you mentioned.

Uh, this is where I got introduced to, introduced to the healthcare industry, uh, and value-based care more specifically.
