You know, I once crashed my car.

girlfriend's car at the time, whose dad was a big client of Evershed's and wrote it off.

And the valuable lesson there was to make sure I was insured.

Because I was on my way to a work meeting claiming petrol allowance and I crashed the car and it was only insured for domestic use.

Okay.

And very interesting observation is where the scope or the appeal, which is within the revenue, right? When it determined in favor of who was outside Evershed's report, RT, PageExchequer, but however, they didn't look after any of the people that fell out of that scope.

Does that make sense, right? Where you have aggregated...

essentially pure aside pension holiday liability.

If somebody is in their freelance economy, there are certain tests to that.

Okay.

And I think the failing of all the reports thus far across the board, High Court, Eversheds, WRC, they failed to bring it back to the point that during all of this process, there's people that have not been paid or looked after at all in the entire process.

Yeah, John, the court case I'm focusing on this month is, uh, Davies versus the Isle of Wight Council, and this is a really interesting case essentially about the lawfulness of sharing draft committee reports with applicants.

And many thanks to, first of all, to Hannah Abuhaib from Eversheds Sutherland, who provides a legal viewpoint column on this case, which is about to be published.

It's not quite yet on the website, but it's about to be up there, so can account for that one, and also to our very own Tasha Norris for the very useful news analysis piece on the verdict.

Okay.

He did say that it should be subject to key safeguards and quite helpfully he listed some key things that, uh, should sort of guide this sort of practice, including things like ensuring you exercise independent judgment, whether the exercise of discretion had revealed the substance of comments accepted, and particularly the de- degree of transparency of how it's done.

So I think some really useful things that the judge set out there.

Uh, the legal viewpoint that, um, as I say, Ha- Hannah Abuhaib from Eversheds Sutherland is producing outlines a bit more detail about some of these key principles, so I think that'll be an interesting one for people to look out for.

But I think it's a really important judgment.
