What did that feeling cause me to do? Ladies and gentlemen, I'll close with this.

My middle son plays for Eastern Michigan.

We went to a football game last week.

And as they were walking through, the kids were carrying construction helmets.

It was a Tuesday.

I was actually at Eastern Michigan University.

I had just gotten out of class.

I was in one of the atriums and people were looking at a TV in such a strange manner.

His team didn't get what it deserved, but certainly Lance Taylor got a lot of plaudits for his job.

What do you know about the coach at Eastern Michigan University?

Yeah, Chris Creighton's been around forever.

I actually had a friend who he was offering to be an offensive lineman, and then that friend realized he did not have the size to do it, to play center, which is probably your smallest position on the line.

You've got Eastern Michigan next Saturday.

As we talked about on the Tuesday podcast, you're not going to learn anything more, I don't think.

I mean, what you could learn is if these games are close, if the next two games are close, or God forbid you lose one of these next two games, then we're done.

I mean, then fickle's out.

My assumption is that they are going to blow out Western Illinois and blow out Eastern Michigan, at least blow out by their standards.

Hopefully that means a cover, but if they win by 20-plus points, I guess I'm feeling okay about that.

But you're not going to learn any more about this team until they take on a good team, and that will not be until the Big Ten opener at Penn State.

I mean, hopefully they take care of business this week.

And then next week is Eastern Michigan before they play Penn State in their fourth game.

So you're hoping that they can kind of start ramping things up and start showing you some stuff.

But when you're playing these teams and there are so many questions like the Badgers have, Are you really proving anything when you're playing this inferior of competition? And I think that's part of the issue that college football is also trying to solve, and they're trying to figure out, which is why the Big Ten wants to go to a 2014 playoff model because they're hoping that more teams will schedule tougher opponents.
