I'm one of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist.

My name is Sister Miriam, and I'm one of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist.

In a convent in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the bell chimes every day at 5 a.m. And then the 40 or so women who live there year round, who are the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, they head to the chapel.

Their day begins with an hour of prayer followed by mass.

At 7 a.m., they have breakfast together in complete silence.

Yeah.

My name is Sister Miriam, and I'm one of the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist.

We're based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Each week, I sit down with sisters of our own community, and we're talking all things Dominican.

We were gonna bring a bus of girls to the pro-life march.

Okay.

And as soon as I heard the name Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist, my heart was, like, set on fire.

[laughs]

And this order, founded in 1860 in Nashville, The community of these nuns has gone up 60% in the last 25 years, and they now have 300 members in the order, and the median age is mid-30s, and they have large numbers of young women still wanting to join them.

Another, I'll just mention two or three of these, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, in Michigan, with direct ties to the work of Pope St. John Paul II.

And from four founding members in 1997, they're now up to 150.

Some reports say 150 plus.
