Montana Western earns the victory 41-27 over Dickinson State.

Eastern Oregon takes down MSU Northern 45-14.

Dakota State barely edges Southern Oregon 27-25.

Skylights volleyball has fallen to seven and six on the year after dropping both games on the road at Dickinson State and Bismarck State over the weekend.

The Skylights claimed victory in only one of the seven total sets played against the Blue Hawks and Mystics.

Head coach Jerry Wagner spoke with NMB Sports on where his team needs to improve.

We just have to really be steadfast in the way we need to play.

We kind of got beat at our own game, so to speak, when we approached with Dickinson State.

And that thing that we need to work on, we need to be a little bit better at, we call it out-of-system play, because that needs to be one of our strengths, is our defense and out-of-system play and getting other teams out-of-system

more often.

Northern fell 25-20 in game number one, but bounced back to take the second game 25-20.

The Lady Blue Hawks reclaimed their court.

They'll take to the links in East Helena next Thursday and Friday for the Eastern A Divisional Golf Tournament.

Skylights Volleyball is looking to extend their two-game winning streak this weekend as they hit the road again for a match with Dickinson State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. against Bismarck State College.

Coach Jerry Wagner of the Skylights program shared with New Media Broadcaster Sports that his team has performed strong on the road so far and he expects a similar performance this weekend.

We've been very good being on the road and going into any environment and finding some consistency in our game, going to our strengths, and really knowing that we have to bring those along with us at a high level in order to be competitive in the conference.

And I expect that'll be the case when we go into Dickinson and then on to Bismarck this week.

Skylights Volleyball is 1-1 on the road in Frontier Conference play so far with a 3-2 win over Rocky Mountain College and a 2-3 loss to Carroll College.

Montana State University Northern Lights football has started the year 0-3 after falling on the road to Dickinson State this past Saturday, 44-13.

After a strong fourth quarter against Montana Western the week prior, Lights QB Malachi Statler threw five interceptions in the loss.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Lights have given up 123 points through three games to counter that the offense.

Defense and blocking has been ahead of schedule in, in my mind, in a, in a good way.

The Skylights take that defense on the road to Dickinson State on Friday, and Bismarck State on Saturday.

In true road games this season, the Skylights are one and three.

[graphics whooshing] On Friday, September 4th, Montana State University Northern Athletic Director Christian Oberquell, Sports Information Director Sierra Woodward, along with multiple former athletes, were inducted into the Montana State University Northern Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2026.

So it, it, it's a very unique athletic department if you, if you compare it to the other athletic departments in the conference.

Woodward has also been involved as a player and coach with the Skylights for just over a decade, while Oberquell joined the Lights athletic department as an athletic trainer in 2001.
