William BernhardtGUEST
30:05
This needs a more comprehensive approach.
William BernhardtGUEST
30:08
there are other books that have been written and I'm not putting down any of them but time has passed the litigation didn't even end until 2016 for Pete's sake so any book before then clearly does not have the end of the story where they finally reach us that's why today comic books all say you know underneath the credit for Siegel and Schuster it says by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel family that's a product of 70 years of fighting that's why joe schuster's family is not in there because they didn't fight as you probably know when joe passed his sister who was his executor panicked and he only he had about twenty thousand dollars of debt which was not insurmountable but she didn't know what to do but so she wrote dc comics and and said hey could you guys help this out with uh with this and i bet you've already predicted the response the response was yeah sure we'd be happy to all you have to do is sign this piece of paper and they did and they gave away all their rights to basically do what the seagull family did
Arthur E. FriedmanHOST
31:13
William, some years ago, at the Friars Club in Los Angeles, I would meet a lot of the old timers.
Arthur E. FriedmanHOST
31:21
And one of the old timers I met was a guy who was an attorney, little attorneys, like a little elf, total wisdom, he was coming out of his eyeballs.
William BernhardtGUEST
32:43
And at this point, we're in the 21st century.
William BernhardtGUEST
32:46
It looked like the Siegel family and DC, I say, but actually the litigation was handled by Warner.
William BernhardtGUEST
32:52
That's, as you probably know, the parent company that... that at least today owns DC Comics.
William BernhardtGUEST
32:59
That could change any minute.
TiffanyHOST
56:20
Yes, yes.
SalHOST
56:21
I saw him in the Marvel-DC crossover.
TiffanyHOST
56:23
There you go.
TiffanyHOST
56:25
Jeff, or Mojo, took Ken in order to get Jeff to kind of go along with him and participate in the show that he wants to put on.

TiffanyHOST
81:54
what
SalHOST
81:55
and i feel like he's gonna find out that there's something behind him and it's gonna be dark side right right right we're linking it all together um I don't know, because actually our DC access, yeah, the latest issue of Absolute Batman was not, instead of that, that was there, and it was like, no.
TiffanyHOST
82:11
That's smart.
Ashley Victoria RobinsonHOST

Ashley Victoria RobinsonHOST
1:23
Some of these are really early episodes, so they're going to be really fun listening to.
BillHOST
8:02
Um, and then I've been reading a few comics here and there.
BillHOST
8:05
I read the, uh, the trades for the Marvel, the new Marvel DC crossovers finally came out.
BillHOST
8:12
So I actually got to read all of those together, which was pretty interesting.
BillHOST
8:15
There was actually kind of a cool, cause I didn't, I only read the Superman, Spider-Man ones.
BillHOST
10:50
So hopefully that's a
MattHOST
10:50
good sign.
BillHOST
10:52
And hopefully they just let DC continue to do what they're doing.
BillHOST
10:56
That'll be good.
Chris GoreHOST
7:20
I think it's worth noting that Clayface, you could call it.
Chris GoreHOST
7:27
Look, I think the DC brand is broken.
Chris GoreHOST
7:30
I mean, this is a DC Comics movie debuting with 24 million.
Chris GoreHOST
7:36
And we'll talk about Clayface in a moment.
Chris GoreHOST
7:38
But box office wise, I mean, even Morbius debut with 39 million.
Chris GoreHOST
7:44
You can't just slap a superhero logo on something and have it make money now.
Chris GoreHOST
7:49
Any thoughts on the box office right there?
Box Office BrawlerGUEST
7:54
I wonder if Clayface would do better if it wasn't under the DC umbrella.
Alfredo BrownHOST
49:59
Yeah.
Alfredo BrownHOST
50:02
So what's the state of the DCU right now, guys? I think I have a very big spot in my heart for DC Comics and this DCU.
Alfredo BrownHOST
50:14
We've got Superman, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos, Supergirl, Lanterns, and Clayface.
Alfredo BrownHOST
50:22
All have been released under James Gunn in the DCU.

"Both heroes are drawn to a dangerous side of Metropolis that Clark Kent didn't know existed," and it probably glows, "where one of DC Comics' greatest enemies is hiding." I think right now, DC's greatest enemy, probably Tom King.
