Crazy Eddie

So I remember getting up crazy early, like the sun was just starting to come up and I got on my bike.

And I rode down like, you know, Route 9, like down to, you know, Route 119, down to where the Crazy Eddie's was at.

And that's where the Ticketron was.

Ticketron.

In Crazy Eddie's? Ticketron.

It was at Crazy Eddie's.

And I got there, and there was one guy there ahead of me.

My older brother and I, we wore that cassette tape out.

One of my first cassette purchases at Crazy Eddie's.

His prices were insane.

It really was.

It was really cool.

I remember.

Clearly, going to Crazy Eddie's to buy that and to buy Twisted Sister Stay Hungry.

I go to Boombox, and I really wanted that.

It was really cool.

So I was immediately on the hunt.

for anything by them so whatever if i encountered you know the even an old one before they had any hits in in like a bargain but i i was i bought it you know sight unseen i'm just gonna get it you know um but my my favorite one and it was a dream realized is you know back when crazy eddie was a thing there was one there was one he worked at crazy

eddie and

I've worked at, yeah, well, there was one in Hartsdale or White Plains.

And if you wanted one, you had to get a salesperson and they would take it from behind them off the little shelf and hand it to you and you could look at it.

And then if you wanted it, you know, they would bring it up.

And I finally, I got a job at crazy Eddie and I was able to step, like, it was like a big thing to step behind that glass case and someone walking up and say, Hey, can I see the dirty dancing soundtrack? And, you know, I'd go by, I'd go behind, I'd, you know, I'd pull, I'd pull it out, you know, show it to them.

They'd look at it and then they'd say, Oh no, can I see, you know, so, and so, and so, and then you'd pull, you know, and it was, you know, So there was a ritual that I was experiencing as a consumer that I then got to experience as that person on the other side of the case.
