College of DuPage

So a really good episode.

I have an interview with my friend, the College of DuPage political science professor, David Goldberg, in which we talk about a bunch of stuff happening in the United States, including the increased violence by ICE.

The ICE enforcement operatives are not as noisy as they were before.

They're not creating as many headlines as they were before.

He is an old friend of mine, very old friend of mine, as well as a professor of political science at the College of DuPage in the suburbs of Chicago.

But he also lives in the city.

That program has scaled across DuPage County.

All of the high schools are offering that same program.

We were able to work with College of DuPage while I was at Glenbard and have that program accredited as dual credit entrepreneurship.

And so students are engaging in entrepreneurial experiences throughout their high school career.

I'm super excited to be here.

Their founder, Mark Kaufman, was on my radio show at College of DuPage WDCB when he had three clinics 100 years ago.

Well, that's changed quite a

bit.

For example, you have a Starbucks in like a courthouse.

You have a bank inside College of DuPage, which they do.

Well,

guess what? That bank for a while was paying no property taxes.

I was terrible, but I didn't want to stop.

I ended up going to the College of DuPage.

And this is going to be important later when we talk about the SP work.

I got dragged into speech, which I thought was the weirdest thing I'd ever.

They call it forensics.

And I was on the speech team at the College of DuPage.

And because I somehow did well at that, I got a scholarship to go to Bradley.

It was never something I would have picked for myself, but what I got from speech was a more structured way of approaching, presenting things.

And the proof is that you can literally go use a contrail finder plug-in on windy.com and test it yourself.

You can go to University of Wyoming or UCAR or College of DuPage.

I don't know, it's one out of twenty of kids who are playing sports.

Who's staying active? Who understands what a big deal this is in a adolescent growing up and not having to deal with the challenges of obesity? Years ago, back on, um, College of DuPage, WDCB radio, uh, we had the author of The Fat Boy Chronicles, which was a book and became a great movie, and it talked about a kid growing up and the bullying and the belittling and this whole world of, um, obesity and childhood obesity.

And to this day, obesity is the number one reason for bullying with these kids.

Number two is disabilities.
