Well, let's walk people kind of a, a Cliff's Notes version in case you haven't seen this.

W- would, would you just give me the Cliff Note version of Rick Rescorla?

Well, he just, uh, he got a megaphone, he got out on the stairs, and he did an unbelievable job of getting, uh, uh, I think it was 2,700 people from his company, uh, down the stairs, although he himself was not one of the people that ultimately survived.

And finally, uh, uh, k- b- b- I guess a t- a tough subject to, to discuss, the, the f- the firefighters who were inside the North Tower when it collapsed, why they were there, and what exactly they were doing.

I wanted to go a little bit deeper on a couple plays I added this morning, Dave.

I do teach an entire lesson on the history of Kubler Ross and her lasting legacy.

Um, but the CliffsNotes version are that Elizabeth Kubler Ross was a psychiatrist.

She was a Swiss psychiatrist who was quite personally interested in the experience that adults had when they were dying and when they knew that they were dying.

This was back at a time before we had things like family-centered care-

And there might be a little setback, but definitely by year two-

... you should be over or have gotten through these stages." Again, I could talk ad nauseam about this, so tho- that's the CliffsNotes version.

I, it's so easy to see too how the, as we were talking about how frustrating it is for things to be locked up in academia and not make their way into things like public policy or how employers treat employees, but, like, it's so easy to see how this model and the misapplication of the model also impacts things like, uh, bereavement leave or, you know-

I want the audience to know who you are.

Can you share a quick Cliff Notes version of your background? And then, obviously, putting out information like this and being over the target like I know you are, having looked at a lot of your material, I'd like you to just also comment on how it's been, what kind of an impact it's had on your life.

So just go ahead and give them the Cliff Notes version of both.

Sure, I've been an architect for 30 years now, and 18 years ago, I was shocked, as you mentioned in the introduction, to hear this evidence for the first time.

In fact, I had no idea that there was a third tower that came down.

Yeah, sure.

I've had to explain myself to so many people over the past year that I think I've got the CliffsNotes version down.

Yeah, so there was a group of us, just stellar hiking friends.

But, Matt, just hours before you joined us here on the show, You dropped a bit of a bummer of an article basically laying out why you're not so optimistic about the Green Bay Packers.

Well, I think I started the article by acknowledging that the Packers are a tremendously talented team.

They have a lot of the same core pieces back from the team that looked like they were legitimate Super Bowl contenders until everything fell apart.

premise, a part of the premise of science was that we were going to bracket certain kinds of questions, only look at things that we could quantify.

I mean, this is basically the sort of Cliff Notes version, right, is that we're going to take a lot of the questions that have been central to Western philosophy, including, you know, teleology, what's the purpose of man or of the universe, and we're going to kind of just agree to put those to one side and we're gonna look at these more readily answerable questions that have these definite kinds of answers.

How much of this stuff is there and how can we move it around? And I think the best scientists have always understood that that didn't mean we had answered questions of teleology or eliminated them from their importance, but science was so powerful and so Effective that I think it did create in its wake of and this is another big guest even Meyer point that in the wake of say the Newtonian Revolution you get people like piercing on Laplace who were saying, you know I have no need of God as a hypothesis in my system.

And you're absolutely right, Stephen, that that is now reaching the limits of its explanatory power, right? And it's doing so in science.

So yeah, I think, so Chris is actually the person who introduced me to Wendell Berry 21 years ago.

So I would love for you to just give people who might not be familiar with Wendell Berry the sort of Cliff Notes version on who he is.

And how'd you do it, Chris? How'd you introduce her to it? Did you like slide a book? Like, hey, I thought you might be.
