James Waits is a fourth-generation leader of the Waits family business and former decade-long chairman of the Waits Group, one of the UK's largest family-owned construction, property services and development companies.

Over a career spanning more than four decades in the industry, Sir James has combined hands-on experience on construction sites with boardroom leadership and chairing national bodies from the Construction Industry Training Board and CBI Construction Council to initiating what is now known as Build UK plus many, many more.

He was knighted for his services to business and charity in 2019.

I interviewed Sir James three years ago following a provocative lecture that he was giving called the total disruption of the construction industry.
