I'm Dr. Peter Saunders, the Chief Executive of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association, which brings together 123 affiliated national fellowships representing about 60,000 Christian doctors and dentists around the world.

And today on ICMDA webinars, and I'll be introducing him fairly shortly, we have Simon Calvert from the Christian Institute speaking on the subject, is Christianity conversion therapy? Now, what's this all about? Well, around the world, advocates for a ban on LGBTQ conversion therapy have adopted the technique of labeling Christian ethics as abusive in order to persuade policymakers to pass laws against them.

And several jurisdictions now actually have conversion therapy laws.

Others, including the UK and Ireland, are considering them.

Veteran Christian campaigner Simon Colvert will help us to understand how we can help dispel the dangerous myths that threaten our freedoms.

Simon is Deputy Director of the Christian Institute, and he's been with the Christian Institute, a Christian think tank and advocacy unit, since qualifying as a solicitor in 1996.

So that's 30 years of experience.

They were quite influential in the vote in Parliament yesterday, the day before, when assisted suicide was thrown out.

So we praise the Lord that that happened.

Here we are with David Bromley from the Christian Institute and we're going to be talking today about some important changes that Christian teachers, particularly school leaders, will want to be aware of and I imagine will already be aware of.

There are going to be a number of changes coming into effect in England from September, particularly around safeguarding or keeping children safe and education guidance and revised relationship, sex and health education guidance too.

Sometimes these documents feel lots taken, a bit overwhelming.

What's going on? Can you tell us? Let's start with the big picture.

I know that you guys at the CI, the Christian Institute, are working on some training.

and something that's going to unpack in more detail the precise and the detailed changes.
