Chimay Brewery

ESR.

I did Chimay this year for the very first time.

Belgium.

Did you win? No, I didn't even win.

Can I just say, would you consider racing that European World Race Series? Yes, we're

definitely interested in doing a few.

I did the Chimay weekend.

We had a Belgian sponsor, so it worked really well.

And, you know, it was funny.

I was just on a trip and they had the, they had Chimay on the bar and the Chimay was the same price as, you know, your domestic drafts and your domestic crafts.

I drank, I must've drank six bottles of Chimay in the last three or four days.

It was great.

I forgot all about that beer.

So that, that was like a big, uh, kind of, um, gateway for me into craft beer.

But I started to drink La Chouffe and Duval and, uh, or Val, and, uh, I was big into Chimay, um, Gouden Draak, all that.

Man after my own heart.

[laughs] Yep.

Interesting.

Um, and then of course, we have Chimay.

We have Duval.

We have-

And then some of the bigger kind of both in terms of beer production numbers and also community size.

So we're talking about places like Orval, La Trappe, Chimay.

They have their own museums, oftentimes associated with the tap rooms that were just a wealth of knowledge.

So a lot of the historical kind of underpinnings were present from all of the...

So, for example, La Trappe is very active.

The Abbey in Koningshoven is very active in Africa.

Chimay is active in water purification approaches throughout Europe.

These sorts of things, right? So they are not keeping any of this outside of the sustainability of their own communities.

Yeah.

Um, Chimay I put on there.

Agreed.

So just because like, you know, that's probably one of those breweries that really got me into, you know, beer beyond natty light, you know, where I was like, oh my gosh, this is like, you know, incredible.

I would argue like St. Bernardus, their quad, you know, is the best of the Belgians.

beers in my opinion like that's my favorite but Chimay when you talk about the white the red the blue they even have like a barrel aged quad like across the board that brewery to me is just phenomenal so I would put that up there because like every time I have one I'm just like man it's never never just hit me in the right spot so I love that and then the last fourth one is Bierstadt Lagerhaus.

So I don't know if you're familiar with that.

It's in Denver.

It's a lot of beer.

Um, Oh, I also had, uh, some Chimay.

Wow.

Where'd you

find such a before yesterday? I got a four pack of Chimay at total wine the other day of cans, cans of Chimay white.

Oh, the Belgian can.

Yes.

Obviously, Saison DuPont, Hill Farmstead, some Lost Abbey, some Blind Pig, some Pliny, some West Mala.

What else we got in here? Goodness gracious, some Allagash, BFM, Classic Swiss Brewery, Chimay, Bone Goo, Crooked Stave, Choufou Blanc, Dodola, DeHalvemane, Juanette, Fanta Flora, more Hill Farmstead, more Lost Abbey, Rodenbach, STS Pills, why not, and some Straff Hendrick, some beer from Bruges, and just more of the same coming up next, just some killer beers on draft there.

Can't beat it.
