Channel Awesome

On your website? No, it wasn't on my website at first.

It was on what was at the time called That Guy With The Glasses, which eventually became Channel Awesome.

Nostalgia Critic, gotcha.

I was there, Dave, because I was a fan of the Nostalgia Critic from YouTube, and then he started his own website, and they had a blog section.

And so I kind of got... to the point where I was sick of that and I ended

up.

I don't want to talk shit or make drama, but I just want to be clear because Channel Awesome had their very big controversy as well with sexual assault, which was very public as well.

But to my knowledge, because I was on there, you found me on there or less or some of your team found me on there because I was posting my stuff on there as well.

Hasan Piker sort of has – he's not really like a YouTube essayist, so he isn't really lumped in with people like that, people like Hbomberguy and Noah Samson, a lot of like – A lot of terrible people, to put it that way.

But Lindsay Ellis, again, much like a lot of people in that world, has a problematic past as a content creator for Channel Awesome, doing things that now would get anybody triple, quadruple canceled.

Oh, you know, I mean, it all changes so fast.

I mean, how can you ever possibly be expected to, you know, make content and have it be, you know, not cancelable, you know, six months from now? Well,

uh, which they're defunct now.

Now they're called double toasted, uh, uh then like garbage on the internet from back in that day like channel awesome and uh i also i loved um james rolf his cinemassacre videos like his monster madness films and stuff like that i

love monster math

those are those were really great and um influential for me learning about like film history and like the craft uh and then yeah like from there basically forming my own love of things.

I mean, some of his references are, but like outdated in the sense of like, like how often are you thinking about Highlander to the quickening?

that was kind of a channel awesome shtick at the time sure yeah

yeah yeah but his videos aren't super cringe to watch now like maybe some of the early doug walker nostalgia critics some of those are

like with his weird storyline that

thankfully it was so bad

thankfully though it was always at the end because i always laugh because like

and a lot of channel awesome people did that

They did, because they were on Blip, and they were kind of just doing their own thing.
