Ron Gillette apparently kept the lowest of low profiles but was a consistent value investor, a devotee of Warren Buffett, we are told, someone who quietly and frugally amassed a fortune from equities alongside late wife Joan, while assisting companies like Tate, who are still part of the backbone of manufacturing in the tech sector.

The couple leaves a legacy that could grow to $100 million and provide perpetual support for Fred Hollows Foundation, St John, the Cats Protection League, and the local tram and motor train clubs that Ron apparently loved.

It's a great reminder you can't take it with you, but the fruits of your wise investment choices could make a difference long after you

are gone.

And then we might be discussing things a little bit more, perhaps if we get some guest behaviourists in future podcasts.

But there is a lot of advice online, isn't there? Things that people like Dogs Trust, Cats Protection, RSPCA, they all have information about introducing pets.

So it's worth having a read through that.

Yeah, it really is.

The music being used is probably not sort of well researched to definitively prove in this context that it sort of reduces stress, particularly within a rescue environment.

We're talking about cats protection.

It's a really interesting question because sometimes when cats are sort of really stressed or really unsettled the question arises if we are using music even if it is supposed to be cat friendly music if you've got a really anxious animal are they then thinking the sound is just a barrier to them really understanding what's going on if there's no music playing is it easier for them to listen for potential stressors even if it's a nice person just come to bring food If they find that stressful, but they can't really hear or they're really straining to hear over it, could that potentially cause stress? So in that context, it's still much up for debate as to how effective or not it would be.

And as well, realistically, if you have in a rescue setting, if you sort of eat cats in a block, are they all going to respond to music in the same way? Probably not.

Have you always been into cats? Have you always been a cat person?

Absolutely.

Like, you know, I mean, my story goes back to, I actually worked for Cats Protection when I was honestly about 12, 13.

People don't even know this.

I worked in practice for 10 years and I worked all around.

I locummed and I worked at the headquarters for Cats Protection as my last job.

Then I was home educating, so I had them at home all the time.

Does that actually lead on to how I then got into face painting? Because my kids were drawing on each other.

Um, 'cause I adopted my cat last year from Cats Protection.

Um, so I wanted to have a monthly, uh, donation to them, and I set that up via a direct debit.
