When angels hit each other, it does feel like It feels like dolls hitting each other, which is very fitting.

And what I have for you makes me wish I wasn't so committed to the theme of assassins and just did Marriage Talks in any way to be honest, but no! I had to be adventurous and commit to finishing a show that I gave a pretty favourable preview to last season.

It's made by a studio that I consider to be pretty up there in terms of quality.

So Metallic Rogue is an original anime with 13 episodes, no extras, no OVAs, whatever.

Aired between January 2024 to April 2024, done by Studio Bones.

Studio Bones, also known as, uh, most prominently, promi- You got it.

They did both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist.

So Fullmetal Alchemist, the, let's say, the original anime, and then Brotherhood, Mob Psycho, Bungo Stray Dogs, Noragami, and some other stuffs, but, uh, and Boku no Hero, obviously, but, uh, most prominently, I think FMA and Boku no Hero.

Oh, sure.

This was a few years into their career, but they were made up of people from Production IG and Bones.

Bones, I know, do a lot of cool-looking animation these days.

Production IG did a lot of game stuff.

Yeah, so Bones also made one of my favorite animes, Fullmetal Alchemist, and I did notice a lot of similarities in the fight choreography between Fullmetal Alchemist and this movie.

Yeah, I have to say the fight choreo was maybe my favorite part of this because I've seen a lot of RPG adaptation stuff, like the Tales of game ones come to mind especially, where it's a lot of...

The fights will be they hit them with a weapon and then the enemy just kind of evaporates, so there's no real fight choreo.

I don't pick up on everything that's going on.

And today we are, we are back for yet another episode of Big Screen Small Mouths.

We are talking about Sword of the Stranger, 2007 Bones feature, uh, a, a jidaigeki chanbara film, a samurai sword, uh, action film, uh, that, uh, I really [laughs] really enjoyed years and years ago.

Mm-hmm.

And I see almost nobody talk about this movie, so I figured now is as good a time as any to try and get a little exposure on it.

So, so yeah.

Yeah, I'd never heard of it until you had brought it up for this series.

I think especially around this time, this sort of, like, 2000, like early to mid-2000s, I was really into a lot of what Bones was putting out at the time.

Um, we'll, we'll obviously get into it in, like, a little bit, but, like, they were putting out the Fullmetal Alchemist adaptations.

Yeah.

I will say this mangaka and, like, Studio Bones, when they adapt this mangaka-

... is so good at, like, a dual swordsman.
