Beyerdynamic

So I use these headphones.

They're the Beyerdynamic DT-77 Pro.

I use these because I also edit in them, as you can see.

They are very well used.

It sat my D- my Sony's just sounding like I've got a sock over my head and no bass.

A- and I'm just thinking, "How on earth did I ever do anything with those?" I mean, I expect they were knackered though, but, but some of the Beyerdynamic, the DT 450s I think sounded absolutely lovely.

I know Robbie, I get you know, your ho- your studio's in your house.

I'm guessing you probably haven't got a massive pair of, uh, ATC, so you probably have to do a bunch of headphone stuff.

They're not all created equal.

Like the Beyerdynamics, I need like a tank of a headphone amp to actually get them to a nice level, yeah.

So that's the thing.

So you've got a bunch of different mics here.

You've got Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, Lomo, so AEA, and Dr. Alien Smith, who I wasn't familiar with.

So, yeah, can you talk to me a bit about the choices there and then the compression and processing that you had to do?

Yeah well I think it would change from song to song is like kind of the first thing I'll say but I think broadly we were using a Tama Crest style kit which is kind of I think it's very similar to the kit Dave Grohl played for Nevermind he was using a Tama grand style I think And they're very similar drum kits, but we opted for the Crestar.

You simply need good headphones for for listening of music.

Yes, and I use Beyerdynamic.

You can use something else, of course.

And yes, you need boom arm and you need a good dynamic mic.
