The Young Matrons, Bethel College came up and I stepped on.

Manhattan came in and I stepped on and we do it.

Well, I give his biography in character on the way up to Lawrence.

I've met Bethel College there in Lawrence and just stepped on.

But you start here in Johnson County and you take the 30, 40 minutes up there and do his biography.

Joyce is a clinical nurse specialist who holds a BS in nursing from the University of Washington and a master's degree in psychosomatic nursing and nursing education from UCLA.

Cliff is a clinical psychologist who holds a BA from Bethel College, St. Paul, Minnesota, an MA in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a PhD in from Fuller's Graduate School of Psychology.

Cliff and Joyce are parents of three married children, nine grandchildren, and one great grandson.

And so here now is our conversation with Cliff and Joyce Penner on Improving Our Sex Life, part 404 in the Let's Talk About Sex and Marriage series.

I was just blown away.

I mean, I, I, I can still remember thinking, "How come I never heard this before?" I went to Bible school s- uh, college, Bethel College, took Bible classes.

I went to Denver Seminary, and I never heard anything even remotely like this, uh, that people were talking about in terms of this figure in the Old Testament, the angel of the Lord, actually being, uh, Christ.

Now, you probably had a little bit more of that than I did.

Here's a little about Christina.

Dr. Christina Liu is Associate Professor of Music and Music Department Chair at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas.

She teaches music theory and oral skills, history, piano, and pedagogy, and is an active presenter, adjudicator, and advocate for music education.

A nationally certified teacher of music, she currently serves as president of the Kansas State Music Teachers Association.

Yeah.

So it sounds like you wear all the hats there at Bethel.

And we were talking before we started recording because I actually took piano lessons at Bethel College when I was in high school.

I grew up in the area.

David Taves' commitment to rescue Mennonites from Soviet Russia came with immense personal cost and little compensation.

He was recognized as an honorary Doctor of Divinity at Bethel College in 1937, and years after his death, Saskatchewan named a lake for him.

The MHA holds books about David Taves by Frank H. Epp and Helmut Harder, which were researched at the MHA, as well as Taves' vast correspondence and a photo collection.
