Betano

We'll tell you all about that in a moment.

But Gameplan is probably brought to you in association with Betano, with the Danseman Kiffin Club, with Viamo Technologies.

They are helping us to bring you Gameplan on Joe99.7 FM every Friday.

Gentlemen, good afternoon and welcome.

My name is Victor Wachitamakulu.

This is Game Plan.

Game Plan is proudly brought to you in association with Viamo and Betano.

Danny, let me start with you on the Kylian Mbappe-China wahala that has happened.

But then you look at the likes of Aston Villa.

They had a betting firm last year, Batano.

They're a proper club.

I think most fans, even of rival clubs, that they're a proper club, proper stadium, good fans.

I'm Danny Funt.

And it generated a big issue for a lot of the clubs at the weekend.

You know, what do you do with your shirts? Flamengo replaced its multi-million dollar Betano logo, sports betting.

with an anti-ban protest slogan saying prohibiting is not protecting.

Palmeiras, for their part, removed Sporting, the Sporting Bet brand, and took to the field with a blank shirt in the primary sponsor zone.

and their social causes.

And it also, perhaps surprisingly, but there's always an after effect of these things, has also led to an inventory glut for shirts with clubs and retailers stuck with now massive stockpiles of merchandise that they can't sell because they feature banned betting logos.

Flamengo say that they have a reported 150,000 unsold shirts stamped with Betano that they can't sell.

but they can't shift.
