You know, um, I'm going to say as a, as a back, you know, I was, I was a walk on a Belmont Abbey and we used to coach like YMCA boys club stuff on the weekends.

So that would be it.

But if you're going to say like, uh, an actual paid position, it would have been Cape Fear Academy.

They were there for four years and worked every and terrific.

You know, they were the team that they go and beat Louisville.

Um, and then he's at Belmont Abbey and he leaves.

And now he's at upstate.

Southern Nazarene big over Iowa Central, 54-7.

Belmont Abbey, 45-26 over Wingate.

I think that's a respectable 20-point loss for St. the new Wingate program.

Aquinas 32-29 over Indiana Tech.

but plenty of other good games as well.

Good to see Southern Nazarene looking good like that.

You mentioned Wingate looking strong, but Belmont Abbey taking care of business there.

UNC Wilmington still crushing it in Division II, and I have to say the blackout jerseys that they wore in this game are pretty sick, and so I would love to get one of those.

Where do you see the shakeup in Division I? Obviously, we're going to talk about it as a huge game.

St. Bonaventure goes and plays Belmont Abbey, scores the last score of the game, wins 14-13.

That's number one versus number two.

They played each other to an incredibly close score.

But the Bonneys didn't have the best results prior to that.

If not the Bonneys, if not Belmont Abbey in that number one spot, who's raised their hand in Division I?

I think Brown has looked really strong, although we will say that that win against Army was not Army's first side.

You know, it was a second side there, but they still looked very good against the Golden Knights.

It's a cut above men.

Now you spent time at both, if I'm correct, uh, Belmont Abbey college and UNC Greensboro.

Yes.

How did your collegiate, how did your collegiate, uh, experience, uh, shape your technical approach and your overall philosophy on the mat?

Our game of the week, one we haven't talked about yet, but we've been kind of alluding to, I think, every show all season, St. Bonaventure at Belmont Abbey.

Preseason number one, defending national champs, the Bonneys, at preseason number two, Belmont Abbey, Zach's new favorite team.

Absolutely.

So, you know, I think that's a boon for them going forward.

But I have to stick with my guns here.

I'm going to take Belmont Abbey in this one.

So like the introduction said, my name is Quinn Beekwelder.

I'm a professor over at Belmont Abbey College.

I sort of found my way into this role, I guess quite strangely.

A young team, but not on that level quite yet.

Uh, potentially a good bounce back spot for Wheeling here, uh, to, to win after falling to Belmont Abbey last week over Indiana.

Uh, and that North Carolina-Duke game is a big one for me, too.

A classic rivalry, uh, in-state rivalry there.

Had a great game for Dartmouth.

So if early on, Zach, if it's not the Bonneys, who do you like? And I know Belmont Abbey is one of them.

We're getting there.

So you can just take your big lap now.

But, like, if it's just those two guys, they have so much talent on that roster outside of that with, like, all the South African guys they have and, you know, the back row and then that scrum half with Harold, like, They should be running up the score in these matches, I think, especially, you know, these last two this week.

So I think there is, you know, some of the other teams in the Atlantic are smelling some blood in the water.

I think they're, you know, Walsh and Belmont Abbey specifically are coming for the champs.

Yeah, it's going to be an exciting race for sure.

So why did you, uh, put this book together? Why did you want to focus on women's stories particularly?

[laughs] Um, I retired after 48 years in education, uh, 30 in the public schools and 18 at a, a private, uh, Belmont Abbey College here in town, and I taught education.

And when I retired in 2018, I thought, "You know, I need to tell these stories.

I need to write them down.
